The Tales of the Trampled Tissue

24. Directive- Omission

I attempted to do an Ugly Duckling type scenario but with tissues. I made a comic strip about the poor trampled tissue who like all new students, felt left out. Naturally, the Puffs didn’t accept him…Thank Heavens for the Kleenex Klub, who welcomed him with open arms!

After about four attempts to make this comic strip in pen and screwing up every time I decided pencil would be more appropriate. From there I traced over it in Pen and then scanned it to my computer…WALLLAH..Heres the Tales of the Trampled Tissue!

Breach Bridge

23. Directive- Omission

When I looked up synonyms for OMISSION the word breach popped out to me. I immediately thought of the movie Breach that coincidently took place 10 minutes from where I live…heres a little background on it if you are unfamiliar with it.

Based on the true story, FBI upstart Eric O’Neill enters into a power game with his boss, Robert Hanssen, an agent who was ultimately convicted of selling secrets to the Soviet Union.

I decided to walk to the bridge where the actual transfer of information took place and put written Kleenex letters into Kleenex envelopes. The letters included everything i hated about kleenexs because of the lovely Project 54 project. I related it to the movie because I went behind my faithful Kleenexs back just as Eric O’Neill went behind the US’ back.

P.S: Writing a letter on a tissue takes a lot longer than you would think..

P.S.S TO WHOEVER IS GRADING THIS ONE: I spoke with Will about this post but basically it cannot be completed with a photo until I am actually home on May 4th so PLEASE dont think I jipped you on a photo, Its coming, I promise!

Which would you choose?

22. Directive- Contrast

WARNING: this is a very far fetched idea, go with it. I made a propaganda type poster promoting being a Kleenex rather than Toilet Paper. In it I attempted to glorify Kleenex and make being toilet paper less appealing than it already is. Basically if being a Kleenex or Tissue was a job, which would you choose?… The answer should be pretty obvious.

I created this lovely piece of work on Paint!

Wedding Do’s and Dont’s

21. Directive- Contrast

I was feeling very Nostalgic with One Tree Ending so I dedicate post 21 to it!

Background: Basically Lucas(main character) was in love with Peyton for years. Long story short, they finally got together and then she ended up leaving him for her job. She came back to town 4 years later and he was with a new girl(Lindsay). Well, basically Lindsay knows Lucas is still in love with Peyton and ends up leaving him at the Altar. Lucas at the time was masking his feelings for Peyton and naturally went into a depression when Lindsay left him. Fast forward 6 months. Lucas and Peyton get back together and eventually get married and have a family. Sorry for that long story you probably couldnt care less about. Youre probably wondering how it all ties into Kleenex?

Welllllll, below is the 2 very different wedding scenes. One scene is of the Lindsay & Lucas wedding(sad tears) and one is of the Lucas & Peyton wedding (happy tears). Both of the scenes made me and hopefully everyone else burst into two very different tears and THANKFULLY I had my Kleenex right by my side for my tear drenching eyes!

SAD EYES IN NEED OF A KLEENEX

HAPPY EYES IN NEED OF A KLEENEX

Same scenarios, different emotion. Enjoy!

Then and Now

My idea behind this post was a contrast from then and now. I decided to go with the innovation of the dryer.

What I did for the Clothes Line: I cut out 4 tissues into 2 shirts and 2 pairs of pants and then left one tissue as if it was a towel drying. I bought clothes pins but after about 15 minutes of attempting to get the clothes to hang the same way and the clothes pins flipping every which way but the way I wanted I gave up and went with paperclips.

What I did for the Dryer: As I stared at this square tissue box for a good ten minutes..I had nothing. But as I was getting my clothes out of the dryer it hit me; a dryer is square, and so is this tissue box! I put a dryer logo on it and some knobs and drew a circle on it. Something was missing. Once i decided to cut  a hole in it and have tissues come out as if they were the clothes it really came to life!    My favorite scent is actually clean linens so it worked out perfectly! Because of my love for fresh linens It made sense for me to put my “fresh linen” scent right next to it! Nothings better to the nose than a fresh Kleenex right out of the box!

Kleenex Kheckers

19.Directive- Contrast

My idea behind this was to make something that really woke the eye up. What better way than a checker board? I created the board by painting 8 Kleenexes Black and 8 Kleenexes White(unnecessary but I wanted the kleenex to be sturdy so I decided to) Once they dried I lined them up and formed a giant tissued Checker Board. Then I created the pieces. Puffs vs. Kleenex. My roommate and I actually attempted to play the game but it got boring real fast. Either way, it was a pretty cool life size board!

Body Tissue

18.Directive- Inarticulate

Inarticulate: Unable to speak distinctly or express oneself clearly.

I was trying to think of a way to get the word Kleenex across without words. In the dictionary they also described inarticulate as being mute. I decided to use my body to create each letter that makes up Kleenex. To make it clear for each letter I went on powerpoint and stenciled in the letters. I also wore white in attempts to look like a giant tissue…which was kind of a fail but you get the point

Tissue got your tongue?

15. Directive- Inarticulate

http://www.noh8campaign.com/

With the directive of Inarticulate I Immediately thought of the NOH8 campaign that has been around for a while. The link above is a little information about the campaign. I used a tissue to cover my mouth like how they did with duct tape. To throw in a little bit of a tissue reference, I did hateS NOT…instead of NOH8.

I first took the photo then played around with it a little on Instagram and then sent it to my computer where I continued to edit it and put in the words.

chubby bunny, tissue edition

17. Directive- Inarticulate

a lot like the marshmallow version…but with tissues

My friend Erin and I attempted Chubby Bunny, Kleenex edition. I then edited my version on iMovie. This took especially long because 1. im technologically challenged 2. i had to watch multiple iMoive tutorial videos…Its safe to say im now a pro at iMovie.

Hope you like it!

16. Directive- Inarticulate

What I intended this to look like is 3 angry men not being able to express their emotions so Kleenexes are forming as heat and coming out of their ears, nose and mouth basically like a dragon.

Im not sure how much those look like Kleenexes but I tried my best. I made them red to symbolize anger and frustration because they cannot express their thoughts clearly. I made this on paint.
